I recently stumbled upon Iron and Resin, a California-based clothing brand that has quickly become a favorite. Their focus on durable, classic pieces with a rugged aesthetic aligns to my evolving aesthetic.
What Makes Iron and Resin Stand Out?
- Built to Last: Iron and Resin prioritizes quality construction and uses durable materials like waxed canvas and heavy-duty hardware. This translates to garments that can withstand the rigors of everyday life and last for years to come.
- American Made (Mostly): Many of their products are proudly made in the USA, which is a significant factor for me. While not all items are domestically produced, their commitment to American manufacturing is commendable.
- Unique Design Features: One thing that truly sets Iron and Resin apart are the thoughtful design details. Features like gussets in the shoulders (of jackets) and crotches (of pants) provide increased mobility and comfort, which is a game-changer for me.
- Classic with an Edge: Their aesthetic blends classic workwear with a modern, adventurous spirit. Think rugged jackets, durable pants, and timeless accessories.
A Few Caveats:
- Price Point: Iron and Resin clothing comes with a premium price tag. While the quality justifies the cost to some extent, it’s wise to wait for their seasonal sales to snag some incredible deals.
- Sizing: I’ve found that their jackets tend to run a bit small. I normally wear a Large or even Medium in most brands, but I need to size up to an XL in their jackets for a comfortable fit.
Overall:
Despite the higher price point and slightly smaller sizing, I’m incredibly impressed with Iron and Resin. Their commitment to quality, thoughtful design, and rugged aesthetic resonates deeply with me. I’m excited to see what new pieces they introduce in the future and continue to build my collection.
